Are you a fan of SUVs? To be more specific, are you a fan of the GMC Acadia? If so, then you are in for a treat. After nine years on the market, the Acadia finally shows off a full redesign for 2017, and it’s totally worth checking out. Continue reading to learn about the newest Acadia and why it’s knocking the tires off other SUVs in the segment.
Smaller Size
One of the key changes GMC’s Acadia sees for 2017 is its smaller size. Compared to previous model years, the 2017 Acadia is 7.2 inches shorter in overall length, 3.5 inches narrower, and 6.6 inches shorter in height. This may seem like a negative change, but in actually, it’s not. While passenger and cargo space drops a bit, there is still more than enough space to get comfy and pack any necessary loot. When you open the liftgate, you are provided a wide, unobstructed floor, which allows you to fit more cargo, and makes it easier to load and unload. Without the optional third row, this space is even more useful.
Lighter and Fuel Efficient
Another change the 2017 Acadia sees is that it lost near 7000 pounds. This weight loss makes the Acadia easier to maneuver and make turns. The Acadia delivers a capable and enjoyable performance on the road, too. Acceleration is exceptional, especially when equipped with the V6 engine, taking off from stops quickly and efficiently. While many vehicles struggle up hill, the Acadia excels in this area. But, as quick as it is to accelerate, it is also great at stops. With its well-tuned braking system with easy-to-adjust petals, this SUV exhibits plenty of stopping power.
There is one more advantage of the Acadia’s weight loss – and its a fantastic one. With less weight to haul around, the Acadia shows off increased fuel economy. See, we told you it was good!
